Game rules

Objective:

Fly the legendary Waterloo goose as far as you can! Dodge obstacles, collect high‑value items, and stack up points before your run comes to an end.

How to Play

Press “Start” or “Enter” to play. While playing, flap using the Spacebar or Up Arrow on your keyboard, left-click your mouse, or tap your screen if you’re on your mobile device.

Scoring:

Collect items and stay airborne to boost your score.
Each banner passed earns you +1 point (or +5 points during Black and Gold mode). Coins earn you +5, +10, or +20 points. The Black and Gold coin awards +100 points and provides a 10-second immunity from obstacles.

  • Banners: +1 (Black and Gold mode +5) | Coins: +5 / +10 / +20 / +100

Hazards:

Your flight ends if you hit the ground, hit the bottom or top of your screen, or hit an obstacle (unless you’re in Black and Gold mode).

Leaderboard:

When your flight ends:

  • Enter your name and direct your points to the area you want to support.
  • The top 5 areas with the most designated points will share $4,000 in Giving Day funds.
  • Think you could be the Top Honker? The top scorer will have the opportunity to award an extra $1,000 to their favourite UWaterloo fund. If you end the game with the #1 score, you’ll be asked to provide your email (optional) so we can contact you and allocate the bonus $1,000 pot. If you do not provide your email but maintain the top score, the $1,000 will be allocated to the area where you designated your score.

Top Areas

Here’s how campus areas are stacking up! The more you play, the more points you earn, and the more you help your favourite area(s) rise to the top. When the Giving Day window closes after May 21st, the top 5 areas with the most designated points will split $4,000 from an anonymous donor, while the top player will have the chance to award an additional $1,000 to ANY existing fund on campus.

Want to give your favourite area an extra boost? Level up your impact by making a donation.
